New Adventures

I began exploring audition opportunities this year.  To put it simply: I don’t know what I don’t know. I can tell you with absolute certainty that I know I can act. I just need someone to show me how to get where I want/need to be in order to make things happen.

I took my husband’s advice and contacted Toni Suttie, a casting director whom he had attended church with many years ago. I sent her an email. She was incredibly kind and got back to me immediately. We stayed in touch and a few weeks later, she offered to mentor me.  Needless to say, I haven’t been this excited since I discovered the bagel slicer.

I really have NO idea what is in store. I do know this: I am going to learn a lot and that this is going to be a great adventure. I realize that nothing is certain, but I feel like if I don’t jump at this, I will always wonder “what if”. I view this coming year of my life as going to school. I am going to give this all I have.

As the wife of a youth minister, I’ve told students for many years to believe in the dreams God’s planted in their hearts. I’ve told them that ALL THINGS are possible. Now, I get a chance to live this out in front of them. I am not going to lie – I am terrified. I am making sacrifices and stepping out in faith. It’s time to put up or shut up.

So, when you think about it, please PRAY for the hubs and I.

2011 is the year I earn my Adventure Badge, and I look forward to chronicling each step in this journey. Thanks for being a part of it.

I believe in you! I encourage you to follow those dreams to the end. It’s too painful to let them die or have them be hindered by circumstance. So go for it! I’ll see you on the stage and screen!

You have a great spirit of adventure, incredibly beautiful and the best part… SO FUNNY. I AM the one who is excited and honored to be able to watch with anticipation the new opportunities that will unfold before both of our eyes. The business has not only been a way to support my family over the last 30 years, its been my ministry to build and bring light to the sometime darkness of the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. You will NEVER get bored working in this business, PROMISE YOU…

The thrill is in the chase. Enjoy every step of the process. Even the yucky parts.
